Access to Airstrips and Lodges

These airstrips are located in different areas of the reserve and conservancies. Flight connections to some airstrips are not displayed here, but feel free to reach out for assistance with flights from other locations like the Serengeti.

Baggage Restrictions and Additional Information

Since flights to the Masai Mara are operated by small aircraft, such as the Cessna Grand Caravan, baggage allowances are strictly limited. You are permitted a maximum of 15 kg per person, which should be packed into a soft duffel bag (this includes your camera gear and hand luggage). Please note that these rules are strictly enforced.

Flights to the Masai Mara operate as shuttle services. Departure times and routes can vary based on demand and weather conditions. It’s also possible that your flight might make multiple stops before reaching your destination. Flight schedules can change without prior notice.

Keep in mind that seats on many aircraft are quite small, and if you’re larger than average, it might be uncomfortable. For comfort and safety, it’s advised to book an extra seat (at the child rate) if you feel you may require more space.

Flights departing from Nairobi Wilson Airport (WIL) serve all major airstrips in the Masai Mara, including Keekorok, Musiara, Mara North, and Kichwa Tembo. These flights make it easy to access a variety of lodges in the area. When staying at a safari lodge, transfers from and to the airstrip are included, though additional charges may apply.
