Luxury Tented Camp in Private Mara North Conservancy
Ideally positioned on the banks of the Ntiakatek River, Richard’s River Camp offers incredible privacy and is one of only eleven safari camps located in the exclusive Mara North Conservancy. The camp’s surroundings are breathtaking, overlooking Ngoyanai Springs, a permanent spring that draws a constant stream of wildlife and keeps the area lush and vibrant. Remarkably, the camp even hosts its own resident pride of lions. You might witness them hunting near the camp, and after sunset, their roars echo in the distance.
The camp comprises seven tents (six standard tents and one family tent), making it perfect for individuals, families, or groups of friends traveling together. The camp’s revenue supports the conservation of this part of the Masai Mara. Staying in the Mara North Conservancy offers benefits such as nightly game drives, scenic bush walks, and visits to a nearby Maasai village. Moreover, the limited number of safari travelers allowed to camp in the Mara North Conservancy ensures an exclusive experience, avoiding the tourist crowds often found in the National Reserve during peak travel times.
Richard’s River Camp is elegantly adorned with furnishings and fabrics collected by owner Liz during her travels. The overall ambiance is that of a relaxed, casual yet luxurious tented camp. The use of light colors and airy materials creates a clean, sophisticated look. Each tent is spacious, warm, inviting, and comfortable.
The family tent is even more spacious, ideal for a family safari holiday. All tents feature outdoor showers, instant hot running water, and excellent water pressure. Privacy is abundant, with each family tent surrounded by ample space. The camp operates on 100% solar power, minimizing its environmental footprint. Additionally, the camp offers 24-hour security, battery charging facilities, complimentary Internet access, complimentary laundry service, and a library. While children of all ages are welcome, parents are advised to supervise them due to the wildlife in the area.
Richard’s River Camp offers communal family-style dining, with resident chefs accommodating various food preferences. The chefs are skilled in a diverse range of culinary techniques. Most nights, guests dine outdoors at a beautifully candlelit table.
